 There are a range of complementary therapies provided for cancer patients in Alberta through Cancer Care Alberta, the University of Calgary, and community-based organizations.

Integrative Oncology Clinic

The Integrative Oncology Clinic is a pilot project that aims to provide personalized, patient-centered, safe and culturally sensitive recommendations on the use of complementary and integrative treatments for patients who are undergoing cancer treatment.

Alberta Virtual Chronic Pain Program

The Alberta Virtual Chronic Pain Program is a free, online program that helps Albertans living with persistent pain (lasting longer than three months) better understand and manage their condition. The program offers virtual education sessions, self-management strategies, and opportunities to connect with others living with chronic pain, all led by healthcare professionals.

Mindfulness-Based Cancer Recovery (MBCR)

Mindfulness-Based Cancer Recovery (MBCR) is an evidence-based scientifically tested and internationally-recognized mindfulness training program for cancer patients and their support network. It follows a 9-week, group-based training program.

​Supportive Care & Living Well from Alberta Health Services provides information on programs and services that help patients and families manage the emotional, physical, and practical challenges of cancer—from diagnosis through treatment and survivorship.

This Wellspring Cancer Related Fatigue program is a free, professionally led series that helps individuals better understand and manage cancer-related fatigue through practical strategies and education. The program is offered online and focuses on reducing the impact of fatigue on daily life.
