The ACTION Centre partnered with the CAMEO education program (originally developed by the BC Cancer Agency) to provide online training modules for cancer healthcare providers in 2015, which we evaluated in a study of about 100 providers from the TBCC (Tom Baker Cancer Centre). These modules are still freely available for both the public and for health care providers on the CAMEO website.

Healthcare providers can access educational materials on symptom management, quality-of-life support, and complementary approaches used alongside conventional treatment, helping guide patient conversations and connect individuals to reliable support resources.

American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Guidelines

August 2023, ASCO released an "Integrative Oncology Care of Symptoms of Anxiety and Depression in Adults With Cancer: Society for Integrative-Oncology-ASCO Guidelines" publication. To provide evidence-based recommendations to health care providers on integrative approaches in managing anxiety and depression symptoms in adults living with Cancer.

Additionally, ASCO/SIO published a joint guideline that provides evidence-based recommendations to health care providers on integrative approaches to pain management in patients with cancer.

ASCO-SIO Guidelines on Cancer Fatigue in Adult Survivors

This publication outlines updated clinical guidelines for managing cancer-related fatigue, one of the most common and distressing symptoms experienced during and after cancer treatment. The guidelines highlight evidence-based approaches—including exercise, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based programs, and integrative practices such as tai chi or yoga—to help reduce fatigue and improve quality of life for people living with and beyond cancer.
