COMPLEMENTARY THERAPY PROGRAMS

What is Complementary Therapy?

AdobeStock_547338039.jpeg

Complementary therapies are supportive, evidence-informed approaches used alongside conventional cancer treatment to help manage symptoms, reduce distress, and improve quality of life. These therapies do not replace medical treatment but can enhance physical, emotional, and psychological well-being throughout diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship.

Many complementary therapy services are accessible through organizations such as Wellspring, Alberta Health Services, Cancer Care Alberta, the University of Calgary, and community-based organizations like the Canadian Cancer Society.
