Hello

My name is Dr. Chad Wagoner, I am a Postdoctoral student in the Faculty of Kinesiology.

Supervisor: Dr. Nicole Culos-Reed

Research Project: EXercise for Cancer to Enhance Living Well [EXCEL]

My Story

Chad is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and has a PhD in Human Movement Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His doctoral research focused on physiological mechanisms of improvement after community-based exercise as well as underlying mechanisms of cancer-related fatigue for women with early breast cancer.

Currently, his work focuses on the development and evaluation of implementation efforts for community-based exercise oncology programs for those in rural/remote and underserved communities. He is also interested in examining the role of clinical exercise physiologists within clinical cancer care, both of which will hopefully assist in his career goal of better connecting those living with and beyond cancer with tailored exercise oncology resources.
