Hello
My name is Sara Cho, I am a Masters student in the faculty of Community Health Sciences - Health Services Research Specialization.
Supervisor: Dr. Fiona Schulte
Research Project: Social adjustment in survivors of pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
My Story
I graduated with a BSc with First Class Honours in Cellular Molecular and Microbial Biology in conjunction with the Arts and Science Honours Academy. My honour’s thesis examined mammary gland development and its implications in breast cancer. I am excited to be switching over to psychosocial pediatric oncology research. I am in my first year of my Master’s in Community Health Sciences with a Health Services Research specialty. My master’s thesis work will look at social outcomes in survivors of pediatric ALL. I am interested in learning more about the long-term impacts of cancer treatment in survivors to hopefully improve their outcomes. I am passionate about health care and taking an interdisciplinary approach to patient-oriented research.

After I complete my master’s degree, I hope to work as a physician in pediatric oncology. I intend on using my degree in community health to work in healthcare public policy to examine and improve our healthcare system.
